Our mission is to grow commercial crop and livestock agrivoltaics in the United States.

    What is agrivoltaics?
SAFA recognizes the Baldwin–Grassley draft legislative definition of the term “agrivoltaics” as: “a system under which solar energy production and agricultural production, including crop or animal production, occurs in an integrated manner on the same piece of land through the duration of a solar project.”

Policies & Programs
The U.S. needs policies and programs at the federal level in support of AgPV. SAFA will be contracted with a federal lobbying team that has been working on AgPV policy for the last year. We have met with senators, representatives, agency technical staff, and aligned organizations.

Advocacy
There is a significant opportunity to advocate for the enactment of federal policies that accelerate the clean energy transition while safeguarding productive farmland, enhancing farm income, and increasing energy resilience and independence.

Trusted Representatives
We are laying the groundwork for an AgPV tax incentive, will respond to state level policy needs, and act as a trusted representative of the AgPV industry. We prioritize responsible solar siting, robust agriculture and livestock production integrated with solar, and incentivizing the uptake and adoption of agrivoltaics.
